BenQ SW2700PT Monitor Review

BenQ SW2700PT  Monitor Review

I am Venky, I started my carrier as a photographer at JNTU,Hyderabad, and was the topper in B.F.A(Photography).

I started working independently in 2000 and established a professional studio named "PHOTRIYA" in 2002 and has conducted 65 seminars and workshops till date. I have done 1000+ celebrity photoshoots and covered about 1000 weddings across the world.

Why i'm giving this review?

Because I love colours in this BenQ SW2700PT  and as a professional photographer I faced many problems regarding the final output of the photograph, the images that are actually captured look differently when i see it in the regular display monitor. But BenQ monitor displays the picture with original colours and clarity.

Why Editing is an important factor to get the best picture?

In my opinion, best photograph means capturing the moment and editing it accordingly. Sometimes we might not get the best picture in a click, in that situation editing will play an important role to get the best out of a photograph. There are so many cameras available in the market to capture the best pictures, but very rare monitors are available to edit those them.

Why choose BenQ SW2700PT?

Color Display:

Most of the major professional photographers face problems where the colours captured in their camera doesn’t display with the same contrast and same depth when they see it on the monitor.

Recently I started using this BenQ monitor. This is not just a simple monitor it’s a photographer’s monitor. The main reason behind my opinion is, I’ve been using many monitors since 14 years for my editing purpose. In my experience the major trouble I had as a professional photographer was with light, shadows, colours and the depth that is displayed on the monitor. These are 4 main factors in a photograph.

Detail Enhancement:

This monitor produces RGB colours, because of this the RED, GREEN and BLUE colours that a camera captures originally will be shown exactly on this monitor. Professional photographers always require prefect colour accuracy and this BenQ monitor is designed keeping them in mind.

It has high contrast levels. The LCD panel features 2,560 x 1,440 resolution in the 27-inch panel, which translates to about 108 pixels per inch.

My observation & features of BenQ SW2700PT:

I'm a wedding photographer and in a wedding we capture every detail very closely. I need the bride pictures with very minute details in their costumes and jewellery. These details are evident in BenQ monitor.

Monitor Stand:

This monitor stand has height adjustments like tilt, pivot and can rotate up to 90degrees if you need to use it vertically. The very important aspect is that it’s customizable.

Display:

Talking about its display features, this monitor does not show any kind of reflection's even though i'm using lights in my room and that’s the best part of all.

Remote Control:

One of the very convenient features of this monitor is unlike other display monitor's this has a remote control for all the setting options.

We can change the below settings from our comfort distance like a remote.

  • ·         Aspect ratio
  • ·         Color adjustment
  • ·         Brightness and contrast
  • ·         Sharpness
  • ·         Color temperature

I use a Canon 1DX mark II camera which captures 100% colours. While I start editing the raw file, I feel fascinated and captivated with the depth, contrast, white, black and sharpness of the picture on this monitor.

What I observed in this monitor is that there are no burning in light and at the same time the details in shadows are accurate.

BenQ monitor has a shading hood option. This feature helps in not displaying the extra light that is recorded in the photograph which makes it easy in enhancing the quality of the picture.

Along with this monitor in CD RAM you'll get Palette master element software. Using this we can easily calibrate the monitor. This is the kind of display that most of the professional photographers would like to use.

 Conclusion..

My conclusion is that this monitor is a well-designed equipment with high quality display. It’s easy to assemble with various display connectivity options. It’s very user friendly which you can get at an affordable price.
As a professional photographer I would like to suggest this monitor for best results.

MY PHOTOGRAPHY INSIGHT - 2

After a long gap....again im starting to write my experiences and knowledge about photography....i hope this will help you to take best pictures....thanks to my wife for helping me book- english....

 1. The key to constant improvement is innovation, practice, imagination, persistence and crucially, learning from your mistakes. Believe me, at least two times out of three it just doesn’t come together.

2. If you’re working in a studio, make detailed technical notes. For example, note all the f-stops, light outputs of the strobes, distance between the subject and background, distance between camera and subject. Attach a copy of the final image to the tech notes. I promise all of this will make your photographic life much easier.

3. Before setting up and producing an image, take your idea and try to accurately visualise the picture in your head, really imagine how your finished image might look. Use this as a starting point then try to create an environment where you can allow your vision to come to life using whatever it takes… location, lighting, backgrounds, models, props etc. However, don’t keep things too regimented, build in a few variables and definitely allow for happy accidents

4. Like with many things in life, confidence is central to good innovative picture making, having the confidence to be an artist, the confidence to experiment technically and with ideas, having the confidence to make decisions and see them through despite criticism and finally the confidence to stand out as unique in a visually cluttered world. The most famous photographers of today have had the confidence to be different, to lead the way rather than follow.

5. If our camera in manual settings …To never miss a street picture, always have your camera set to 1/250 sec at f/5.6, ISO 400. When the clocks change for summer, change the aperture to f/8 instead.

6. Practice, practice, practice and when
you think you know it
all, practice again. The most important thing for me is to be at one with my camera, which in turn gives me confidence.

7. No matter how good your theory and technical knowledge is, the best place to learn is on the job. Often people see press photographers weighed down with gear and assume that they’ll be getting much better shots

8.  Think about photographing what we can’t see, that we can only imagine, either an object or a concept.

9.When photographing children, get on your knees. pictures of kids are much nicer when you’re on their level and seeing things as kids see them. It’s even better when you can get the camera angle lower than the child’s eyes.

10. I remember  being told at MY JNTU art college: ‘Always shoot with the sun behind you or to the sides to avoid flare.’ Some of my  favourite  shots have been taken when I’ve allowed flare to happen – fashion shots, portraits and interiors have all benefited on occasion…

THE INFORMATION OR THE SUGGESTION THAT I GIVE IN MY BLOG IS BASED ON MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE AND LEARNING.
THE CONTENT MIGHT OR MIGHT NOT BE 100% CORRECT.AS THERE IS NO RIGHT AND WRONG IN CREATIVE FIELD. SO, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO LET ME KNOW OF YOUR VALUABLE SUGGESTIONS....

                      MY PHOTOGRAPHY INSIGHT-1

It’s one thing to take a picture, but another to take a photograph. There are some basic rules that can help you take more interesting and eye catching photographs.
Once you have the basic rules down, you’ll become more observant of the photographic opportunities that are around you. This is important in creating your “eye” for photography, and in creating your own style. It will be the difference between a snap shot and a photograph.
Before u start u must understand a few limitations of the media.
In black & white , the original colors of the subject are reduced to gray tunes. The eye can see details in all areas of a high contrast subject, since it can adjust to the darkest and lightest light levels. A photographic image can reproduce a limited range of these subject tones. Eye can see the 3 dimensionality, depth and perspective of a subject.since photographs are two dimensional, depiction of 3d is archived with correct use light and shade.

Learn the art and the science of image capture, image processing and manipulation and the desire final output. As a beginner it makes sense to see and observe the work of your contemporaries to gain knowledge and take inspiration. You could even try to duplicate the image of a contemporary to learn what goes into the pre production, production and post production. So challenge assumptions, be receptive to new ideas, take risks, build on ideas to make them better ideas.

Learn to sens the image without having to life the camera to your eye. when u learn to see a picture before u capture it and when u acquire this ability, you will spend less time looking for the photograph. They will discover themselves to you.

Understand the fact that you make the image not your fancy equipment. So learn ur techniques but dont let them kill you. And dont be obsessed with getting it right. And most of the best discoveries, inventions and great images happend by accident and experimentation. So if you dont know where you are going , join the gang as all roads lead there.

shoot from ur heart , u be happy.
